If you've got ovaries, you will experience perimenopause and menopause, two phases of life that come with physical and emotional changes that many people experience without much knowledge or support. Loved ones may not understand or downplay the intensity of our experiences. Health care providers often disregard the impact on our quality of life or offer one-size-fits-all solutions. Our bodies are changing in myriad of ways, including irregular periods, hot flashes, libido shifts, mood swings, insomnia, vaginal dryness, pain during penetration, and orgasm changes.
Let's talk about how these 'pauses' affect our self-image, sex drive, desires, intimacy, and relationships. Tristan Taormino will discuss coping strategies, Western and alternative treatments, and creating your own holistic care plan. We absolutely can reclaim our bodies and our pleasure! Note: This class was co-created and developed with sex educator Elle Chase.
Tristan Taormino is an award-winning sex educator, media maker, and speaker. She is the author of eight books and editor or co-editor of 25 anthologies including The Ultimate Guide to Anal Sex for Women and The Ultimate Guide to Kink. She has directed and produced over two dozen sex education and adult films. She keynotes, lectures, and teaches workshops around the world on sexual pleasure and health, relationships, and social justice. She is the host of the long running podcast Sex Out Loud.
You'll notice that we're offering two class cost options - $25, the regular cost of a She Bop class or workshop, and $15, a reduced cost option. While we want to make sure our instructors are compensated fairly for their hard work, we recognize that many of our community members are experiencing alterations to their finances at this time. If you are able to pay full price, we ask that you please consider doing so. If the lower cost option is a more accessible fit for you at this time, we encourage you to utilize that option.
