If you picture a dominatrix, what do you see? Are they holding a whip or flogger? Although the terms "BDSM" and "kink" refer to all sorts of delightful ways of engaging the senses, impact play (a subset of pain play) is what many folks imagine. In fact, lots of folks have done it without even realizing it! Ever been spanked? You've engaged in impact play.

Impact play can be a safe place to start one's journey through the land of dungeons and leather. But how does one safely explore all that impact has to offer? In this 55-minute Sex Ed QUICKIE with Aeryn Ayla, we will:

  • Define impact play and pain play
  • Learn basic anatomy and how to minimize risk
  • Explore tools of the impact trade
  • Brainstorm creative ways to play with household objects
  • Share resources, ideas, questions, and more!

Aeryn Ayla (she/her) is the Education Coordinator at She Bop. She has been an educator and community organizer in the sex positive world for 5 years and an educator-at-large for 10 years. She is also training to be a rabbi with the goals of helping to foster comprehensive sex education as well as create holistic spaces for people to explore the intersections of sexuality, gender, and spirituality. Aeryn is trans, a chronic pain babe, and has Autism and ADHD, and uses her identities to teach people how to create a kinder, more inclusive and sex-positive world for all.

You'll notice that we're offering two class cost options - $15, the regular cost of a She Bop class or workshop, and $10, a reduced cost option. While we want to make sure our instructors are compensated fairly for their hard work, we recognize that many of our community members are experiencing alterations to their finances at this time. If you are able to pay full price, we ask that you please consider doing so. If the lower cost option is a more accessible fit for you at this time, we encourage you to utilize that option.

Due to our commitment to paying educators fairly, all classes are excluded from sales and discounts.
