So often we are our first, and best, lovers. The way we've learned to touch ourselves (or not) can affect the way we relate to our own body and our partners' bodies for life. But spending time alone and focusing on pleasure regularly gets pushed off the schedule. What would it look like if we treated ourselves like our most cherished partner? Touch can release oxytocin, reduce stress, and calm our nervous system — and yes, self-touch can do those things too.
In this class, we're going to learn ways to make time for ourselves. Stella Harris will discuss touch techniques and the ways our bodies can experience pleasure. We will consider making pleasure a ritual, learn genital massage techniques, and embrace masturbation as a healthy, loving practice.
Stella Harris is a Certified Intimacy Educator and Sex Coach who uses a variety of tools to guide and empower her clients. She teaches everything from pleasure anatomy to communication skills to kink and BDSM. Stella teaches at venues and conferences across the country (and Canada!) while maintaining a private practice in her adopted hometown of Portland, Oregon. Stella's first book, Tongue Tied: Untangling Communication in Sex, Kink, and Relationships was published by Cleis Press in 2018 and she's currently working on a new book for Cleis, all about threesomes. You'll notice that we're offering two class cost options - $25, the regular cost of a She Bop class or workshop, and $15, a reduced cost option. While we want to make sure our instructors are compensated fairly for their hard work, we recognize that many of our community members are experiencing alterations to their finances at this time. If you are able to pay full price, we ask that you please consider doing so. If the lower cost option is a more accessible fit for you at this time, we encourage you to utilize that option.
